Question : Wireless Laptop cannot see printer

I have a simple wireless network.
A desktop computer (OS = XP Home) with printer.
A BELKIN wirless modem router connected to the descktop.
A Wirless Laptop (OS = Vista).

Both Laptop and desktop can access the internet via the wirless modem.

My problem is that the Laptop cannot print to the printer. When I try to add new printer on the laptop, it cannot see the printer. The printer has been set to share.

I think the problem is that the laptop cannot see the desktop and therefor cannot see the printer.

I do not know how to get the two computers to see each other.

Any help much appreciated.

Answer : Wireless Laptop cannot see printer

for any devices to see each other on a single network they should be a member of the same workgroup name and has a unique computer name. Disabled any firewall you got on a PC also wil help and file and printer sharing of course should be enable also (which is, by default). Go to the DOS prompt (start>>>run, type cmd>>>ok) and type ipconfig on each PC for you to get the IP address. And still on the DOS prompt type ping + space bar + (ip address) and then enter. Make sure that you will get a reply on both ends. If you get a reply then it should work.
