Question : Can't Crawl SharePoint Sites

I'm not able to crawl my SharePoint Sites I get the following error:
This item could not be crawled because the repository did not respond within the specified timeout period. Try to crawl the repository at a later time, or increase the timeout value on the Proxy and Timeout page in search administration. You might also want to crawl this repository during off-peak usage times.

Answer : Can't Crawl SharePoint Sites

In this specific case I didn't have a Search Server Selected in the  "Manage Content Database Settings" really don't know how this could have came about espcially when the content was being crawled before.
