Question : Slow opening Word 2003, only 1 user in domain, no recent changes

I've seen some posts with a similar issue, but don't think I've found my solution yet.

We use Word 2003, which is accessed through a terminal server.  Only 1 user started having an issue today.  If she double-clicks a Word document in Windows Explorer, it takes several minutes for it to open.

- No issues with other types (Excel, PDF)
- No recent server changes
- It doesn't matter what's in the document (heavy on images vs. text, etc..)

However, if Word is already open, THEN she goes into Explorer, she can open the documents with no problem.

Answer : Slow opening Word 2003, only 1 user in domain, no recent changes

This problem happens with almost of all Microsoft Office products .. specially 2003 versions.

The application registry somehow got corrupted, so most of the time the document itself not able to open but it can be open through opening the environment / main application.

You may try arranging windows as cascade or anything.

Or, better re-install the office again for that particular user..because registry is not an easy fix.
