Question : VS 2008 Hangs (slow) on Open Website when searching through Mapped Network Drives

Machine Win 7 64 bit 1 GigbNetwork
VS 2008 with SP1

When doing an open website and browsing a network drive.... the "Open Website File System" dialog hangs on any folder on a mapped drive that contains a .NET website.  On folders with older Asp websites or just flat files it borwses quickly.

Also when editing web.config....the machine constatnly hangs for 4-5 seconds at a time.

I had none of these problems on a slower Xp-64 machine

I have installed KB 958094 (XML walking) hotfix

If I delete any Zip files in the folders on the mapped drive everything opens much quicker......I am not sure if WIn 7 is doing things differently with Zip files or not.
