Question : Exchange on Windows Server 2008 R2

I purchased a server with Windows Server 2008 Standard R2. I didn't know it didn't come with exchange. How can I install exchange? Does it cost extra? I tried installing Exchange Server 2007 SP1 but it fails saying it can't read from the Metabase. What can I do?

The evaluation is free, but the price tag is $700 for Standard and $4,000 for Enterprise.  You might be thinking of Small Business Server (SBS), which does include Exchange.
