Question : windows 7 offline files:  the process cannot access the file because it is being used by another process offline

I just added a brand new windows 7 prof machine to a windows 2003 r2 server environment.  Boot up the machine, join to the domain, login as the user and everything works.  Within 10 minutes, I check the sync center and all the files in the users My documents are available offline via Group policy and they are all failing to sync with this error:  the process cannot access the file because it is being used by another process offline.

I have disabled SMB 2.0 on the machine by following this process: http://www.petri.co.il/how-to-disable-smb-2-on-windows-vista-or-server-2008.htm

No change.

I have 2 windows 7 clients with a SBS 2008 server and this works just fine, so I am assuming this is due the windows 2003 server.

We can access the files via the UNC path to the users my docs just fine.

Thanks in advance!

Answer : windows 7 offline files:  the process cannot access the file because it is being used by another process offline

Abandoned this issue altogether as nothing was working.  I enabled oplocks on both the server and the win 7 using the lanmanserver entry in the registry.  Rebooted both server and machine 3 times to ensure it was changed.  No luck in getting it to work.   I installed synctoy.  Then changed the documents reference to a local folder on the C drive.   It Stupid that its own inherent process will not work and I have to use another microsoft product to get it to work.

thanks for the thoughts everyone.
