Question : exchange 2003 dropping mail with invalid from field
I've got a customer who wasn't able to received emails being sent from her website. They have a SBS2003 using the POP Connector.
I could trace emails to the POP account and they would be collected by the POP connector as I could see it in the logs. However, they were not delivered to the users email account. The POP connector was set to deliver directly to a single account.
The email from the website was badly formed, in that the from field was not a valid email address. They have since changed this and all is working again.
The question is: What happened to any previous emails that may have come from the website? Is there any way of telling how many were received and 'dropped' or better, is there any way they can be recovered?
