Question : TabletServicePen error on Fujitsu tablet pc

Have a Fujitsu T4410 tablet pc running Windows XP SP3 (Tablet PC Edition 2005 Ver2002).
Right out of the box, it is getting the following error in the Event Log:

Event Type: Error
Event Source: TabletServicePen
Event Category: None
Event ID: 0
Date: 1/12/2010
Time: 8:46:17 AM
User: N/A
Computer: Laptop1
Description:
The description for Event ID ( 0 ) in Source ( TabletServicePen ) cannot be found. The local computer may not have the necessary registry information or message DLL files to display messages from a remote computer. You may be able to use the /AUXSOURCE= flag to retrieve this description; see Help and Support for details. The following information is part of the event: Unhandled error opening USB device.

I purchased 3 of these tablet pcs - 2 with Win XP and one with Windows 7 Pro.  The same error appears on Win XP laptops and a similar one appears on the Win 7 laptop.  I have tried to install the Pen driver from Fujitsu site and also the Wacom Penabled Driver from Wacom site with no success.  I called Fujitsu tech support and after spending more than an hour with them, they could not resolve the issue.  I tried looking this up in Google with not much success.

Although I get this error message, the pen seems to work OK on the laptop so far.  However, I am getting around 16 of these error messages in the event log every time I boot up the laptop.

Any suggestions?

Thank you.

Answer : TabletServicePen error on Fujitsu tablet pc

If these are brand new out the box broke and giving you these error messages, I'd return them and get 3 new ones. Probably one of the worst feelings in the world is spending money for something new and having to fix it right off the bat.

Sounds to me like its a manufacturing problem maybe a bug in the production line. Three new replacements will save you a whole lot of heartache.

Hope this helps!
