Question : Prevent Internet Explorer from opening a pdf file
How do I prevent Internet Explorer 8 from opening a PDF file?
I am using Nuance PDF Converter 6, IE8 and Vista SP2.
When I click on a PDF from the Internet I want it to automatically open in the PDF Converter 6 program and not in an Internet Explorer window. Is there a setting, registry modification or something that I can use to keep IE from automatically displaying the file when I open the PDF (I am unable to set the option in PDF Converter 6 so am looking for a way to set it in IE or the OS).
Thanks for your help.
Answer : Prevent Internet Explorer from opening a pdf file
You still want to disable the PDF from opening in browser using the method and then set the default program to be
"Nuance PDF Converter 6"
