Question : CERTIFICATE TEMPLATE NOT VISIBLE
|
|
Using the Microsoft CA Service web interface on my cert authority I'm trying to generate an Advanced Certificate Request and when I select the option and proceed by then choosing the Submit a certifcate request by using a base-64-encoded CMC, etc. etc. the Web Server template does not appear in the Request screen...in fact, only four templates appear but when I use the template snap-in I see nearly 30 templates listed.
What am I doing wrong? The cert authority is running on a domain controller that is in a single forest, single domain running in native mode.

Answer : CERTIFICATE TEMPLATE NOT VISIBLE

I found the issue...and I'm not sure why I did this considering my cert authority was installed on a domain controller but it was not configured as an enterprise CA. I configured an enterprise CA on another domain controller and was able to generate the certs I needed just fine.
