Question : Browser hangs when uploading large files > 10 MB to Sharepoint

A user is reporting a problem with uploading large files to Sharepoint using IE7 on his Dell laptop.

The problem is reproducible on multiple workstations as well, using both IE and Firefox, as well as multiple files types, including .zip, .mp3, and .db. Files above ~10MB cause the browser to hang during the upload, and the file transfer never completes. The uploaded file size limit was set to 100MB when the problem was reported, and one of our techs upped it to 200MB, with no change in results.

What might be causing such a problem, and what steps are required for resolution?

I would suspect the IE (transfer) timeouts need adjusting if you are uploading files that big..
I would consider a stand-alone FTP program would be better.
