Question : Error deleting File or Folder cannot delete file: Cannot read fromt he source file or disk
Experts, I am getting the dialog box "Error deleting File or Folder cannot delete file: Cannot read from the source file or disk" from windows 2003 Server R2. When I try to delete the files from Vista over the network, I get the dialog box "item Not found Could not find this item This item is no longer located in W:\BACKUP\MASTER BACKUPS\June 2008\DESIGN XYZ path .. I thought it was the folder name but when I tried to rename the folder it tells me acess denied from the server. these files and folders were copied over from Macs. the files and folders are taking up too much disk space and I want to delete them off the server.
thanks!

Answer : Error deleting File or Folder cannot delete file: Cannot read fromt he source file or disk
I also had this ones.
The problem was a too long path in combination with long file names.
I recommend using dosprompt to delete te folder from the server.
