Question : Left Double click with Mouse Doesn't work

I had to do a system restore on a laptop to solve a problem with internet not working (now fixed !).

The laptop now has an issue with the mouse (or trackpoint device) where the "double left click" function to open folders or files doesn't work, thus I have to select using "single left click" and then "right click" and select "open" or "run"

Laptop is running Vista and I have scanned for viruses and checked with "hijackthis" for errant regisrty entries.

hardware is OK since I can open the control panel, select the mouse function and check the "double left click" speed to open folders ??
Selecting the "open files with single left click" in the Folders option in Windows Explorer doesn't work either.

Any ideas on the problem or a fix most appreciated - thanks.

P.S. don't know if this was an issue before the "RESTORE"  was completed, + there are no earlier restore dates to choose from.

Answer : Left Double click with Mouse Doesn't work

Check the control panel, mouse you may have it setup for a short period between left clicks to indicate a double click.  increasing the allowed period between the clicks might fix your problem.
Check whether the trackpad has its own utility and check the configuration there.
