Question : Event 1008 perflib errors filling Application Log

Windows 2000 Server SP4

The Application is filling up with two event 1008 errors below at a rate of 2 a second, so within a weekend theres over 100,000 now!  

How can I stop this performance counter error or turn the counter off completely?

Assuming the installation went OK (no errors or failures in the log files), yes I would recommend you to try a reboot in the after hours. This will assure all the services are correctly restarted.
