Question : VS2008 opens .aspx files in new IE window instead of Designer/Source Editor

This is really annoying, I don't know why but hopefully someone knows how to put it right.

When I double click any .aspx file in the solution explorer, instead of opening the Designer or Source Editor it opens a new IE window which then has an error since it can't display the content.

So, I have to right click the .aspx file and select View Designer which is a pain.

There is probably an option for this somewhere in the Options, but I can't see it.

Try Below.

Right click on the .aspx file. Select option "Choose Program". Now select VS2008 TS from the list. And most important select the checkbox "Always this selected program to open this kind of file".
