Question : Showing user's online availability... what do i need?

Hello,

We've got SharePoint server 2007 with Standard CAL...

REcently i went to the Microsoft offices in Reading for a demo of SharePoint, and every list of users they had, it displayed their online status, and if you click on them for more options, you could start an IM chat with them.... my question is, what do i need to do/install in order to have this available...? Is it Office Communications Server??

Whether you can lock it down I do not know.

The cliënt is something like windows communicator, but just small and easy to use.
