Question : Not enough memory error on trying to open Access database

Hello people,

Firstly, I would just like to say that I have been using Access 2002 for nearly 5 months now and despite having some ok features, I find it to be another piece of Microsoft junk. Oh, why can't the world be a fair place where the good are rewarded, the evil punished and producers of crap software go bust very quickly instead of taking over the world and forcing this rubbish on the rest of us.

The latest Access annoyance I'm experiencing is that I have a database file which now won't open. I get this message:

There isn't enough memory to perform this operation. Close unneeded programs and try the operation again.

There is 256 MB of RAM in this machine and when I try to open the file (with no apps running) there is about 100MB available. The file is about 5MB with only a few entries in some pretty standard tables.
Tried using Jetcomp. It compacted the file down to about 3.5 MB, but the file it created still gives the same message as before.
Advice appreciated here.
