Question : Disabling MS Windows XP Automatic Updates / patching : it's greyed out
It's quite annoying that my notebook was being automatically updated with
patches and I'm being prompted to restart daily.
When I go to this option (see attached), the option to turn it off was greyed
out. Any idea & how can I prevent this.
I don't like the idea of being patched unless I've taken an image backup
beforehand (there's been known cases MS security patches / updates
caused problem)
Answer : Disabling MS Windows XP Automatic Updates / patching : it's greyed out
Here we go:
Select Enabled radio button;
Configure automatic updating as: 5 - Allow local admin to choose the settings
Save
Refer the screenshot for any queries;
Thanks,
