Question : IE8 home page is being forced to google.co.uk
Dear Experts
I have IE8 running on WinXP SP3. I use the AVG Free suite version 9.
My IE home page is (normally) set to load three tabs:
1) a simple (but large) HTML-only page that sits resident on my hard disk
2) guardian.co.uk
3) google.co.uk
Recently, this seems to have changed - I can't pinpoint any change I made that would cause this to happen. Every time I load IE now, Google seems to set itself as the home page (first tab) as well. I've done some experimentation with this: if I set IE to load only the local page as the homepage (i.e. one tab only), it works fine until I go to Google - which then immediately sets itself as the home page.
It's driving me to distraction. I can't find anything in my anti-spyware kit (AVG) that sets this option; I checked the registry and don't even have the key HKCU/Software/Policies/Mic
rosoft/Int
ernet Explorer; I used HijackThis and although not I'm not that technically knowledgable, I can't see anything in the log file that looks even vaguely suspicious.
Does anyone have any ideas?
Thanks in advance

Answer : IE8 home page is being forced to google.co.uk
Hi Charl,
Try out this,
Go to "Tools">"Internet Options">"Settings(of Tab Part)"
and click "Restore Defaults".
You can see a option to set the first page visited as "Home Page".
